Colorado Fruit Growers Worry Over Freezing Weather
"PALISADE, Colo. -- Fruit growers in western Colorado are pulling all-nighters to protect their crops from the freezing temperatures.
Orchard owners have been using wind machines to keep their peach, cherry and apricot trees from freezing. Palisade orchard owner Bob Sowell doesn't know what kind of damage has been done but he thinks some trees won't produce at their peak in late May and early June.
“The problem is that the buds are two weeks early. And that just puts the fruit at a longer time for risk,” Sowell said." - TheDenverChannel
